Jamie was raised in the small town of Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan with 2 brothers. He loves being outdoors and spending time with family. He moved to Saskatoon in 2019 to attend the Saskatoon Business College and decided to make Saskatoon his home. Jamie decided to create Precision Sky Aerial Photography in 2017 after watching a drone-based promotional video and knew in that moment that he wanted to fly drones as a career.

From 2018 to 2021, he flew drones as his day job for Deveron, using fixed-wing and multirotor drones to map fields for farmers and agriculture companies like Nutrien AG, D-BASF, and Bayer. This was mostly summertime work so, in 2021,  he chose to switch careers to work wtith DIAS Geophysical as their Chief Drone Operator. He was hired to help start their drone program and continues to work with them to this day. They use large-scale multirotor drones, like the Skyfront Perimeter 8 you can see the in the picture above, to fly magnetic and electromagnetic surveys for mining companies.

Between his day job at DIAS and Precision Sky as his side company, he’s kept very busy with drone work and continues hone his drone skills.
